MUA Anesthesia

What Kind of Anesthesia Will be Used?

The most common term for this type of anesthesia is "Conscious Sedation."  This is the same type of short-term IV anesthesia often used for endoscopic procedures such as Gastroscopy or Colonoscopy as well as in Oral Surgery.

This type of sedation does NOT require either a breathing tube or a bladder catheter.  Although you will not feel pain or remember the procedure, your body is able to maintain control of its general functions.

You will not be permitted to drive yourself home after sedation.  If you need transportation, the surgical center can provide it.
